Smear Slides
Day rate for microscopes includes supplies for making smear slides

Thin Sections
billets for thin sections can be cut at the GCR and sent to an outside service for thin section generation

Current instrument procedures and manuals reflect the JOIDES Resolution environment and are in the process of being modified to reflect the GCR shore-based laboratories.
